This Newcastle-based trio deliver their latest dose of rock worship on this three track EP. The first track, “I Could Run A Thousand Miles” reminds me of some of the renditions on the two ‘Skalleluia’ discs by The Insyderz with edgy guitars and driving rhythms (but minus the horns, of course). My personal favourite is the second song, “Am I Someone” which builds to an exhilarating chorus in which Pak Chum sings “My life is not complete/Until I see you face-to-face.” Chum’s vocals are often quite gritty but sometimes don’t have enough power to carry the lyrics against the backdrop of blistering guitars and pounding drums. Unfortunately, I have to concur with TC’s comments in issue 67 that he does occasionally tread the thin line between being in tune and being flat, especially in the less energetic moments. Nevertheless, this is an enjoyable EP and the band clearly have a passion to tell people how God has changed their lives. To ensure your money’s worth (‘cause there is only a little over 11 minutes of music) the disc also has an enhanced portion that includes lyrics, pictures, a video diary and some silly moments (somewhat like out-takes from a movie) – some of them even made this stiff-lipped, cynical reviewer chuckle!
