Blue Angel Mary Taylor opens this volume with her song "Oh Daddy" aimed perfectly at the women prisoners who are listening. While hearing this tape, it struck me how much Mark Tirondola sounds like some kind of mafia thug and yet here he is preaching about Jesus dealing with the adulterous woman in John 8 and it is powerful. Throughout the whole series I was touched by how much those playing in the band treated the prisoners with respect and dignity. It's not all serious stuff, for Bob Dylan's "Are You Ready" the Blue Angels pull out some women prisoners to form a backing vocal group. The results aren't always tuneful but it's certainly fun and another way of breaking down barriers between audience and band!
