Tony Loeffler & The Blue Angels - Rooftop Series 5: Passaic County Jam

This time you get a reggae version of "Finish Line" (!) and an acoustic country version of "Sweet Love" with Tony Loeffler sounding like a cross between Bob Dylan and T-Bone Burnett. Loeffler also shares a haunting poem "Hellhound Train" before launching into the song "Straight And Narrow". If you're looking for evangelistic songs that don't beat about the bush, these albums are packed with them! Side two of this volume contains another huge jam session and a version of "Oh Happy Day" using women prisoners as the choir, some of whom seem to know more of the words of the song than the band! But it's the looseness of some of the music that gives this series its charm.
