A dozen tracks sizzle on this stunning compilation showcasing the career of this South African rock band formed in 1996. Ranging from the standout tracks "Treasure", "Look What You've Done" and "Joy" from their self-titled album in 2000 written by singer/songwriter John Ellis through to the Redman-penned title track classic from the 2004 album 'The Answer To The Question', this CD offers a superb showcase for newcomers of Tree 63's songs up to 2007, although it is a shame that no track was selected from their 2002 album 'The Life And Times Of Absolute Truth' there are no light weights here apart from a weak live track unjustly ignored. For this reviewer, it's "The Answer To The Question" that encapsulates the contemporary Christian poem to the human heart: "He is the answer to the question/He is the cure for the infection/He is the ultimate reflection of holiness and perfection/He is all he says he is." Classic stuff. And the title track from their eighth recording 'Sunday' epitomizes Tree's recent development, as John encourages fellow believers to stand up for those who don't have a voice. About the "Sunday Song" John said, "I was reading a book by Shane Claiborne called The Irresistible Revolution, and it got me thinking about what it really means to be a Christian. I was beginning to realise more and more that if there was one thing that was of primary importance to Jesus, it was the poor." Truly, this is a very good collection, with the exception of the inclusion of their rather lacklustre live version of "Amazing Grace".

Hey tree 63

We also a band from South Africa, Cape Town. We really love you music and we play alot of it in our worship meetings. The only criticism i have is that you publish too little new CD's and keep on repeating old tracks. It not a bad thing but i believe you have to make at least 3CD's then do a compilation of the CD's as in your instance you only made one CD.

You a brilliant band and i/we/south africa will always support you
Keep well
Conran
