OK, this is terrific and quirky! And I love it. Welsh band Triflesky are vocalist and sax player Choo Fleur and instrumentalist Comma Q and 'A Taste Of Triflesky' is a seven track stripped down mixture of pop, a few dancey bits, plenty of sax and lots of strangeness. Musically it's lo-fi but with huge dollops of creativity and arrangements that give the whole thing plenty of vibe. There are three songs that really stand out for me. "Give" has a poppy beat and uplifting feel whilst "Skippin'" is mostly instrumental with some brilliant flute. "Soul Cry" is moodier with its more serious message. Above all of this though, there is one song that totally caught my imagination. "Blue Sky" is the catchiest thing on the CD and it's totally genius! A combination of great song, fab vocals and sax from Choo and then the crowning moment is the appearance of Totty Dog on backing vocals (just think Yoko Ono and you get an idea of the Dog's vocal style though Yoko never sounded as good as this!) I really love this, oh yeah, and the CD cover is crazy too!
