The debut album from this four-piece multi-instrumentalist group from Holland is pretty refreshing to say the least! It's an album where genres and languages mix, which result in an eclectic, catchy set. Six of the 11 tracks are in English - which means that even if your Dutch is not up to scratch, there's more than enough here to help you relate to the album. The clever twist on some classic hymns is, for me, one of two highlights. "I Heard The Voice Of Jesus Say" begins with an atmospheric whistle solo, which gives this version an emotive Celtic feel. Elbert Smelt's vocals are subtle, yet drive the song well through what ends as a powerful take on this classic song. "Amazing Grace" is another classic given the band's unique treatment - where vocals and harmonies fit well against a backdrop of upbeat instrumentation. The second highlight of this album is that even when the song may be in the band's native Dutch language, there is an incredible familiarity to the songs, and even after the album has ended, you'll find yourself humming the catchy melodies. Trinity have certainly brought to the table an interesting and varied debut album through which their musical talent and love for Latin and Celtic music is abundantly clear.

Product Description
Trinity is a band formed by 4 young talented musicians from The Netherlands. Three of the band members, the Smelt brothers, spent their childhood in Peru. Their South American up-tempo musical roots together with their love for Celtic music are the ingredients of Trinity's passionate pop songs. Their debut album 'Inicio' (which means beginning) was released in October of 2007 and was received very well by their audience.
'Inicio' contains some songs that they have sung since childhood, but also songs that inspired them. Familiar songs like 'Wayfaring Stranger' and Matt Redman’s 'Mission’s Flame' are rearranged with the unique Trinity sound.
