Tuesday's Child is the moniker behind which Lesley Glassford and Linda Elias (the other half of singer/songwriter, talented muso and ex-Ragamuffin Bamlman Rick) have been unleashed on an unsuspecting world. For their second release, producer Bill Baumgart has passed a selection of 10 numbers, eight written by Rick and/or the girls, through the Benson CCM Sausage Machine, and given us a listenable but ultimately run-of-the-mill album. One surprise inclusion is the old Cyndi Lauper smasheroo "True Colours". Sadly the cover is not a patch on the original which was one of the classics of the '80s. Sadly also. I must say that one of the girls has a voice that at times sounds a tad on the weak side -I can't work out which, but they sound altogether more convincing when they sing together on anything that has a bit of a beat (which is most of them): slow inspirational stuff is not their strong suit. Whilst this ain't bad, it could've been a lot better: it seems somehow to lack any son of passion.
