Here is a little list of what this album does not give you:- 1. Sad, cheesy praise tunes, which after all the polishing, re-styling and marketing are still sad, cheesy praise tunes; 2. That sinking feeling of what else you could have done with your hard-earned folding stuff; 3. That other feeling of total frustration and bewilderment as to how come they have a recording contract and you, who in all humility could make a far better album, do not…or is that just me? What it does give you are quality songs, first class musicianship and an exemplary live recording, but above all it draws you into the presence of God. From the outset you are treated to a praise and worship experience that Delirious/, Matt Redman or Yfriday would be proud of. The infectious first song “Everyday” sets the tone, musically and spiritually, in such a way that had me bopping around the place where I work declaring my intent that everyday I will live for Him! One song that has particularly caught my attention is “On The Lord’s Day” which will shortly be finding itself on our church song list. Hillsongs have really come up trumps with this album, and I for one hope to be hearing a lot more from United Live. There was only one area where I could possibly criticize, but its so small that I think it would be very pedantic of me to mention…so I won’t, I’ll just let you go and buy it and see if you can work it out.
