A good cross section of the vitality and fiery soul ever present at the heart of Jewish roots music. Notable participants include the outstanding Effi Netzer Singers whose own joyous CD (with Beit Rothschild Singers) had a recent CR review. Their nine tracks here pump out another dose of that unique Jewish sound and liveliness: Gevatron also hit home with some good sounds, "Halleluya" is very fine and their version of "Yerushalaim Shel Zaham" is another winner. "Solomon The Great" celebrates the wise one of Bible days and there is of course one contribution from the legendary Shlomo Carlebach, his lovely "Osse Shalom". Wide-ranging and fascinating sampler of the music pouring out of Israel these days, invigorating and compelling. Investigate today.
