If you're tired of the stylistically stilted approach of most Christmas albums you may enjoy these new twists of old carols came courtesy of Sparrow Records black gospel roster. 'A Gospel Family Christmas' offers fiery gospel versions of "The First Noel", "Hark The Herald Angels Sing" et al from the likes of Norman Hutchins, Sandra Crouch, Tramaine Hawkins, West Angeles COGIC Mass Choir, the Rickey Grundy Chorale and half a dozen more.
