Westbound was one of the seminal R&B independents of the early 70s and this dig in the archives offers plenty of exciting music from Funkadelic and the Denise La Salle Detroit Emeralds (Westbound's big acts) as well as some interesting obscurities like the Houston Outlaws, Fuzzy Haskins (Funkadelic's singer and now reportedly a Christian) and Eramus Hall. The gospel interest is in one cut, "Everything's Gonna Be Alright" by the Clark Sisters, planned as the follow up to the classic "You Brought The Sunshine (Into My Life)" before being inexplicably shelved. Maybe a luxury buying a mainstream R&B album for one hot gospel cut but connoisseurs of those soulful voiced sisters from Detroit may want it.
