'At The Foot Of The Cross' is an Easter themed compilation drawing on modern worship songs and some contemporary reworkings of some classic hymns. The album kicks off with Paul Baloche's recording of "Hosanna (Praise Is Rising)", a popular and resounding anthem. This is followed by "Healer", the song from Hillsong that is ably covered by Kari Jobe. There are eleven tracks in all, covering all bases and all genres; there literally is something to please everybody. From the gospel tinged "He Lives" featuring Israel Houghton and Cindy Ratcliff to the ambient "Before The Throne Of God Above" from PK7 there is a great deal of variety here. Other standouts are "In Christ Alone/The Solid Rock" from Travis Cottrell, the acoustic worship of Kathryn Scott's "At The Foot Of The Cross" and the up tempo pop of Hillsong's "For All You've Done" all offering something if you're looking for Easter service inspiration or if you want a compilation to enhance your personal worship.
