Thus! Records are a Staffordshire-based record label, which has been set up by Staffordshire band Risen From Ruins. This various artists debut offers plenty of variety including Filipino hard rockers Firefalldown with their Cross Rhythms radio hit "Commissioned" and a bevy of British singer/songwriters including Andi Oakes, Liz Clarke and Lisa Donnelly. Kitchie Nadal's song was one that I found myself listening to repeatedly, reminding me of the haunting voice of Jaci Velasquez. Similarly I found myself connecting to the track by Lisa Donnelly, a new artist from the West Midlands, her "He Knows (Everything About Me)" being a memorising song. Contrasting to the ballad-based pop music found on 'Building Bridges' there is also music that is a bit more upbeat, such as "I Can't Live" by Unmaskd, a rock band who have been described as having a "cinematic, energetic and captivating sound". Strangely though, one of the weakest tracks on the album is by Risen From Ruins themselves. Still, an interesting if rather fragmented selection of tracks.
