Compilation albums of Christmas songs can often be little more than record companies wheeling out their artists and getting them to sing "Hark The Herald Angels Sing" or "The Christmas Song". But they can be OK when the artists are good, the songs are chosen carefully and they keep the production values away from Mush City. First up is 'Christmas' by various Sparrow artists. A pretty impressive list of artists, BeBe and CeCe Wlnans, Margaret Becker, White Heart (their "A Little Drummer Boy" pretty tough), Michael Card, Deniece Williams, Steve Camp, Tim Miner, Geoff Moore and Steven Curtis Chapman. It's that genius Steve Taylor with his surreal, Mexican hat dance version of "Winter Wonderland" that steals the show/CD however.
