I enjoyed this album, the tracks are slickly-produced pop praise. However, I don't understand how the album can be subtitled '12 Hit Songs' as none of the tracks were 'hits' in a Top 40 sense (I think they mean US Christian radio 'hits' Ed), nor to my ears are they the best tracks from the various artists. They are also all elderly, 1988 is the most recent recording. Each track is in the P&W style form contemporary artists, the whole project supervised by Steve 'The Choir' Hindalong. Starting in powerful style with 'Sing Your Praises To The Lord' from Amy Grant it continues with First Call, Michael W Smith, the Imperials and others. 'El Shaddai' from Amy Grant )perhaps the only classic on the album) is also included. Sandi Patti's track 'In The Name Of The Lord' starts slowly and quietly building to a powerful praising finale. An interesting compilation, although I remain unsure why it has been produced at all. To ignore more recent tracks and use such a narrow range of artists, 12 tracks, 10 artists (9 considering Russ Taff featured on the Imperial's 'Praise The Lord' seems strange to me. Best track is 'Awesome God' by Rich Mullins.
