This 22 track collaboration between Thumper Punk and Raven Faith Records brings together a raft of different artists with the intention of raising funds for the Food For Life Ministry. Featuring everything from hardcore, classic punk, rock and even pop music this is an excellent introduction to a wealth of new bands. Amongst the unfamiliar, there are some gems to be found. Although not exhaustive, highlights include the breakneck delivery of Platoon 1107 and the humour of the Hippos Of Doom. Familiar ground can be found with a cover of Hillsong's "Hosanna" by He Never Sleeps. The scratchy vocal on this track has a distinctive, stirring quality to it. False Idol's "To God Be The Glory" will have you pogoing around the living room to its classic punk riffing. As might be expected, production and quality varies considerably from one track to the next highlighting the main problem with this as a recording. Individually the songs are solid, but there is no direct connection between the tracks and continuity tends to falter at times. The three pop orientated tracks at the end of the album also seemed a strange addition, at odds with the majority of the music. This was not always the easiest listen, but the variety and quantity of material presented provides an interesting snapshot of what these record labels have to offer. Plus raising some cash for Food For Life Ministry is surely a worthy cause.
