In theory, this could be Now That s What I Call Choirs From Around The World 36, a collection of one moment in time hits, for the choir generation... Fresh choirs 2000; smash hits choirs of the millennium. However, this offering is unlikely to have mass-market-mega-selling appeal. Firstly, the production fluctuates wildly from the tin shack sound of the Sistine Choir Gregorian chant from 1500ad (or so it seems) to the sophisticated Gospel Choir Of Montreal. Secondly, the variety on show is so diverse it s divisive - the Cook Islanders trad tribal choir with Greek orthodox at evening prayer? It is so context-less and confounding - a maddening, substandard mish-mash which all leads to choral chaos. Now that s what I call a darn shame...
