A compilation taken from last year's Gospel Train shows featured on BBC Radio 2. This album showcases some of the best British talent in a project that underlines the show's commitment to British gospel music. Most of the artists featured here are well known in the insular world of Britain's black churches (Patrick Bernard, Paul Lee, Black Voices and the wonderful Escoffereys) while half the tracks here are performed by the Gospel Train house choir. The variety, style, production and delivery of all the work is exceptional ranging from accapella, contemporary and traditional - this album has the lot. What the BBC have done here is to present to the music loving people something of a future classic or a milestone as the album shows just how far black gospel has progressed in this country over the last few years. Whether you're in the mood for praise and worship, reflection or just having a good time -there's something here for everyone. Let's hope that there's a Volume 2 featuring this year's outings as Volume 1 is certainly something to behold. Final piece of good news is that this album is at a budget price!
