Reviewed by Norman Smith "Fifteen unforgettable songs celebrating fifteen memorable years" claims the unashamedly gushing commemorative booklet. Memorable, maybe, but unforgettable? Well, Sparrow have only signed artists who have a full-time Christian ministry and many of these have obviously been extremely effective, eg, Keith Green, The 2nd Chapter of Acts, Steve Taylor, Deniece Williams, John Michael Talbot to name a few. The main trouble with this compilation, however, is that it simply doesn't gel. Too many musical styles are thrown in together - Soul, Gospel, Country, Worship, Soft metal, you name it. There are always a few songs you are not going to like. The collection does have strengths, though: Charlie Peacock's "Almost Threw It All Away" is outstanding, Deniece Williams' "My Soul Desire" shows her voice is as beautiful as ever, and 2nd Chapter of Acts' "Mansion Builder" from their 1978 album in memorable. Unfortunately, there are at least half a dozen forgettable songs, and, while 15 songs for 15 years seems a worthy project, one gets the feeling the compilers should have forgotten five or six.
