The JAM (Jesus And Me) festival in Reading is now in its second year and has proven to be a big success in being a significant showcase for local church talent. This studio-recorded album of twelve of the bands and solo artists participating in the event offers a wide range of styles and though in truth one or two of the groups are clearly groups of local church worshippers with little to offer an album listener rock gospel teams like Blade and particularly High Gain show themselves to be clearly ready for full albums while Water Colour Mourning are wonderful in a ramshackle way only very young bands can be. The talent spotter in me though tips Freeway, the girl lead singer is excellent. Send off your money, £1.50 goes to a local charity.
