Those familiar with Swedish heavy metal may recognise a raft of the names on this compilation that runs for over 70 minutes. The likes of Narnia, Audiovision, Divinefire and Modest Attraction are featured with all contributors having some connection to the prolific vocal talents of Christian Liljegren. The tracks span the last 20 years right through to this year's Golden Resurrection release, 'One Voice For The Kingdom'. The quality of the music is spot on and production is crystal clear and bright. The overall sound is, however, a little dated. Power chords in abundance, anthemic choruses and right on the nail, intricate guitar solos. This is an enjoyable romp through some foot stomping tunes that could have graced the rock charts of an earlier time. Highlights include Audiovision's cover of the Stryper classic "The Way", where more grime is added to the guitar and vocal work. The intro to "We Will Go" bursts with energy and could have been stripped directly from an early Barren Cross recording. Whilst the tunes ooze quality, the lyrics do not always match and tend to be on the cheesy side, repeating many clichés. This recording will provide an introduction to some of the best Swedish Christian metal, but moreover, provides a nostalgic visit to the late '80s where the listener can dose up on quality hair metal.
