Reviewed by Doug Holland A pound from the purchase of this compilation goes to the Wesley Owen Charity Of The Year. Having said that, there is no obvious connection between the songs or artists chosen to contribute to this massive three-CD collection of worship songs (50 tracks and only a little short of four hours of music in total), with the track and artist lists containing a variety of old and new, very familiar and less so. Variety, in fact, is present through pretty much every aspect of the collection, with male/female leads, bands and solo artists, live and studio, self-penned songs and covers, a variety of nationalities of leader and then through tempo and feel. Indeed, it is the less familiar which gives the recording its uniqueness, moving it on from being just another collection of corporate worship by providing extra interest and variety; at the same time it acts as a reminder that there is a lot of good worship going out there away from that being led by the big names. So if a batch of recordings from the likes of Kelly Minter, Brian Houston, Christine Dente, Moya Brennan, Quinten Delport, onehundredhours, Susan Ashton, Sarah Sadler, etc. . . only occasionally broken up with the likes of Redman, Townend and Hughes, this is a box set well worth searching out.
