In many ways the Power Praise series was the forerunner of the hundreds of worship compilations which today clog Christian retail's CD racks. Like all the volumes in the series, this album doesn't identify the vocalists, though it's worth pointing out that Bryn Haworth does a sterling job on "Give Thanks" while the rolling folk rhythms driven by some delicious mandolin on Dave Bilbrough's "How Wonderful" are still a delight to the ear. Against that there are two Maggi Dawn songs, "O Magnify The Lord" and "Like A Gentle Breeze", ruined by the limpest MOR choir you'll hear outside of an elevator. Also difficult to bear is Andy Park's extremely unwise rewrite of "La Bamba" ("O Lord, I Want To Sing Your Praises"). Like the curate's egg, good in parts.
