It's difficult to keep up with exactly what our American brethren are releasing and when these days and I guess that the vast majority of sanctified dance fans don't have access to the whole N-Soul/Velocity range, so that sort of dismisses the accusation that these kind of repackaged oldies don't represent good value for money. True, a few of the songs on this compilation are starting to show their age, with the two tracks from the surprising N-Soul re-release of Sue Rinaldi's album 'Eternal Love' now sounding positively ancient. But for those who have missed out on albums from the likes of Gina, Limit X or even the 'Cross Rhythms' dance album (and let's face it, it's not exactly easy to buy some N-Soul stuff over here) can now sample some of their delights, albeit in a deliberately shortened radio form. Don't despair though: many of the songs have actually benefited from being tweaked and rearranged, the most obvious being "Peace" by the World Wide Message Tribe, which has had a whole chunk in the middle removed and the song flows all the better for it. Can't say I care for the Level 42-sounding tracks from Clay House but for Christian radio presenters/students/N-Soul completists it's a good purchase.
