Listening to hip-hop and writing reviews you get to hear a huge number of styles, genres and artists. Each brings their own unique flavour and each has its own message and place. Under the name Rezzurected Muzic emcees Minority and Illustrate have put together a bunch of tracks, along with other deejays and producers, bringing the whole potpourri together under the title 'Rezzurected Muzic Presents Tha Circus'. Minority and Illustrate bring an intelligent underground flow to each track. Musically diverse, the project takes us through near live sounding tracks, "Tha Circus", to more programmed patterns and to some phenomenal cuts (the instrumental "Conversation With God" and the end track "Resurector" among many others) to some head nodding cuts like "Soul Survivor", through rock-infused numbers like "Knocking" to some anthemic party bangers like "My Boots On". What stands out is the sheer range and crate-digging freshness of the beats and cuts on the project. Illustrate and Minority remind us that they're "playing for keeps, that's to keep his Word alive, cos real hip-hop ain't ashamed to say Christ." ("Play 4 Keeps"). This is a project for real hip-hop lovers, for the underground, for boom-bap heads and for all those who love Christ.
