The development of dubstep in the last decade is an exciting one and as it has moved out of its underground enclave to become an international music force it is heartening to report that a number of Christian dubstep producers are on the scene making authentic and at times innovative electronic music. This 23-track various artists compilation is by no means limited solely to the electronic experimentations of Christians but it just so happens that many of the best tracks here are by believers. Pride of place has to go to Digital Pilgrimz, the groundbreaking production duo instrumental in putting this project together. Their "Shogun" track is a killer and will surely encourage quite a few dubstep devotees to search out the set of eight mixes Matt Stevenson, Dangerous and Ultra Flex now have on offer. All the other believers - Traxione, River Accorsi, Sketi, Product74 and Rogue - do themselves credit with Rogue in particular showing great invention on his track "Aviation". The tightly coiled production sounds here with their dark hues, bass wobbles, clipped samples and cracking snares are all from the underground end of dubstep so Christians with more commercial tastes will have to wait for Chip Kendall's rumoured experiment with dubstep praise before they can download. But for underground disciples 'Something From The Future' is hugely encouraging stuff.
