This compilation is a 2 CD set of 30 songs from such major CCM names as Chris Tomlin, DC Talk, Kutless, Jeremy Camp, Switchfoot and many more. The songs here are tried and tested worship numbers known by most church congregations. The whole thing kicks off with Chris Tomlin's classic reading of Laura Story's "Indescribable" then Avalon bring us Stuart Townend's "In Christ Alone". Matt Redman is represented by Kutless on "Better Is One Day" and Tree 63 offer their successful but rather unspectacular version of Redman's "Blessed Be Your Name". Amy Grant's "Thy Word" takes the listener back to an earlier era of Christian music and rather flaccid inspirational arrangements mean that Avalon and Twila Paris rather stand out from the modern, pop rock worship style dominating this album. Generally, 'Songs In The Key Of Worship' is a predictable compilation put together merely because the songs and the singers have acquired US CCM fame.
