A mixed bag compilation of some well known and not so well known American rock acts! Some good and a few not so hot. Starting with the well known, you get rare tracks/demos from Fold Zandura, Chris Lizotte, Poor Old Lu, Squad 5-0 and Dimestore Prophets which all serve to give an alternative take on what we already know from their main releases. Meanwhile when we enter Indieland, this is where things get exciting. There's loads to get your musical teeth into so I'll simply list a few standouts. Both Elysian Skies and Satellite Circle present tasty slabs of Britpop-influenced rock and Exeter-based Flud's "Sleep" is a wonderful, vibrant, gloomy piece of indie rock. "Solid" from one of my favourite bands Champion Birdwatchers is included here in all its magnificence and the song "Atlantis" from August Moons is jangly and moody. With 18 songs, there are plenty of opportunities for checking out new artists and like Word's 'Mindy's Revenge' album, I just have a feeling that some of these names will pop up again in the next couple of years.
