Follow up to 'The Top 20 Best Loved Welsh Hymns' reviewed a while back. These 23 tracks contain further evidence of the majesty of the tradition, recorded partly at massed choir events at the Royal Albert Hall and the National Stadium of Wales, and partly at smaller local gatherings. It's the passion that comes through, the depth of identification with what they are singing, the sheer roots and nourishment of it all. As the harmony rings out, you can feel the heart and soul of a nation in all its fervour and intensity. It's also a timely reminder of these great hymns, what a tragedy if they are ever mislaid amidst changing fashions.
