With 28 tracks and selling for a bargain price, this CD represents excellent value for money if you like country music from way before the popular Nashville sound and the contemporary sounds of today's scene. The compiler of the CD, Paul Hazell, has searched long and hard for Christian material that is good and therefore there is not a bad track on this album, but you have to be a fan of older type country music to appreciate the quality here. A few personal favourites are "Kneel Down" by the great bluegrass duo, Don Reno and Red Smiley, "Oh Gentle Shepherd" from George Morgan and a couple of tracks from the western group Sons Of The Pioneers; "Power In The Blood" and "Read The Bible Every Day". Some of these artists are now long forgotten even by country fans but when I listen to a track such as "Great Speckle Bird" by Andy Wilson (completely unknown to me!) I felt I was listening to Eddy Arnold who at the time was such a major star. An album for old school country devotees.
