Ultimate Rap 1 grew quickly dated, such is the speed with which hip hop styles change and contained its fair share of clankers. This set is much better, started with a master-blaster in Stephen Wiley's "Attitude" (surely, one of the best vocal hooks around at the moment) while Christian rap's best selling group DC Talk and the understated ETW also contribute hot cuts. I'm not sure that putting rock-orientated rap and the funkier stuff on one compilation works nor am I convinced that Terry Taylor's jokey children's rap with the Raptures fits in with this collection. But as a reasonable representation of the state of gospel rap, this ain't bad.
