It reads like a who's who of British roots music: Eden Burning, Phil & John, The Electrics, lain Archer, Garth Hewitt, Paul Merton (alias Sam Hill!), all contributing songs previously unreleased and written specially for this unique, challenging and stirring album. And good songs they are too, particularly from lain Archer and Phil & John. Whilst an acoustic track from The Wilsons and a melodic Bill Drake make for very pleasant listening. Although perhaps not to the conscience - for this concept, originated and co-produced in conjunction with STL and OM (operations Mobilisation) aims to do far more than entertain. It presents us with our world today. A world in desperate need of Christian Social action, bathed in prayer and fuelled by an intelligent heartfelt response. This album is worth getting just for Stewart Henderson's articulate, atmospheric poetry that artfully links the tracks together, but if you feel drawn to the same heart as the artists then get the album, get the book (Operation World) and get praying.
