Okay, sooner or later this HAD to happen. In the same way that the Teletubbies have become cult fashion with students, so have Veggie Tales with pretty much all Christian adults that I know, and the cleverly written and immensely enjoyable songs therein have been crying out for ages for some serious rawk treatment! And here it is. Hardcore Veggie aficionados will already have sought out and heard Audio Adrenaline's reading of "The Hairbrush Song", as well as Relient K's brilliant version of my fave Veggie song "The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything", but now you can also enjoy Superchic(k)'s hilarious "Water Buffalo Song", the newly solo Paul Colman romping through "I'm So Blue", and significant contributions from the likes of Sanctus Real, Rebecca St James (perhaps sounding a little embarrassed on the Veggie Tales Theme Song), and Newsboys. Possibly the highlight though is "I Love My Lips" by the specially brought together band Stevenson, which is Steven Curtis Chapman plus sons. Caleb plays the angst ridden teenager, while dad is hilarious as his square but wannabe hip father. Genius. Bottom line: if you like Veggie Tales, this is a must.
