Just when you thought you were safe from tacky Christian cliches it's... White Metal Warriors! (If I ever hear the word "warrior' associated with metal once more...) Enough of this. This CD brings together some previously unheard stuff by British Christian metal acts. Probably the best track is "Seven Angels" by Seventh Angel, solid heavy doom with Ian Arkley's vocals at their nastiest. "Anybody There" and "Walk Away", Stairway's offering, is a vast improvement on their performance at Greenbelt '90. Had I been doing the compilation I would have put "Morbid Curiosity" by Detritus in the place of "Subliminal Division". "Taste The Blood" is Detritus at its best, hard and thrashy. "Do Or Die" and "Overpower" give us our first taste of Lazarus' new vocalist. His voice is cleaner than their last frontman. Whether this is good or bad is up to you. Finally, precisely how Maverick managed to infiltrate this album remains a mystery. If they are metal then I am Queen Victoria, and I am not amused. Good quality rock perhaps, but they make Kylie Minogue sound like Megadeth. Fair album with a devastatingly tacky inlay card.
