Down the years Kingsway have released literally hundreds of compilations where tracks from their vast catalogue of recordings have been shuffled into "new" albums and box sets. This release takes the process not into modern worship but into the realms of traditional hymnody and the result is a set which contains many of the hymns any churchgoer would know and love. With 50 tracks it would take too long to list many but suffice to say that some of my favourites, like "Holy Holy Holy", "Crown Him With Many Crowns", "O For A Thousand Tongues", "To God Be The Glory" and Keith Green's "There Is A Redeemer", are all here. As usual in Kingsway's questionable packaging tradition, no indication of the sources of these recordings are shown and they range from obviously live congregational anthems through to elegantly arranged choral ensembles. So if you are blessed by the old hymns you might want to investigate this bargain-priced package, even if you discover you already have a few of these tracks on other releases.
