Kingsway's Mission Worship series seeks to bring together great songs from across the decades. The present 28-song double-CD is a compilation based, rather loosely, on the theme of love (which could take in just about every worship song that's been recorded!). And certainly there's huge diversity here regarding performers and type of songs chosen. Age-wise most tunes stem from within the past decade; a few are as recent as 2010 and one or two go back to the early/mid '90s. Loads of familiar, well-worn tracks are to be heard - from the likes of Matt Redman, Graham Kendrick, Stuart Townend and Brenton Brown, to name but four. What's perhaps more ear-catching are the less familiar numbers - a track from the Rend Collective Experiment's recent acclaimed project; 'Love Come Down' performed by Eoghan Heaslip and David Ruis; the gentle acoustic "He Reigns" from Marc James; and Miriam Webster's melodic "Angel Of The Lord". Aaron Keyes' anthemic "I Am Yours" is also well worth a listen. Great songs these - and the lyrics are provided. Pity we're not told what album the songs are picked from. But all in all, a fine two-hour worship collection.
