If you haven't found out yet, TyscotLOUD is the newish label/series of one of America's longest established black gospel labels, Tyscot Records. This various artists mixtape is designed to "engage millennial culture through hip-hop, ultimately encouraging youth to be positive contributors to society in a 'loud,' visible and radical way." There are a few flavours here with the southern style dominating with Kaleb Star's "Real" being the main exception with its strident east coast edge. There's also a heavy sound and lyrical style from Royalty on "Youn Kno" and the sole female rapper on the project, Amour offers her "Pop Off". More laid back southern styles come from B The Messenger ("OK OK"), Prodigal Son ("Grace") and Dale Evans (who I suppose I should mention isn't the onetime wife of cowboy hero Roy Rogers but is a rapper telling listeners how far we can go with faith in Jesus).
