The Vocal Few are a husband and wife duo from Seattle, Washington who have a folkish/acoustic style to their music. Kirsty and Matt MacDonald began releasing their music in 2012 and this, their third offering, features six tracks. Matt is featured on lead vocals while Kirsty provides the harmonies. "The Corner Dwellers" begins with the sound of water and is an acoustic guitar-driven track featuring piano and strings. For the second track "Time" the opening sound effect is, appropriately, a ticking clock. On this song, the couple look back at their two children growing up as they sing, "Remember who we have been, looking at our children/How they got here and where do they go so fast?" The title track, like many of the tracks, is acoustic guitar-driven with shakers and various other percussion instruments added. It features more layered harmonies which add nicely to the feel of the song. Well executed and lovingly crafted this set deftly conveys the message of hope.
