Many may have heard of WariYah (pronounced warrior) through his friend and fellow rapper G.I.F.T.E.D, who together have been causing quite a stir in the UK in recent years. 'Stand Up And Be Counted' blends a ragga/hip hop style of rapping which is hardcore through and through. Unfortunately the beats and rhymes lack originality and fail to differ from track to track. Although this is essentially a good EP with a nice flow and is well produced, it fails to inspire me or offer anything that any other regular gospel hip hop album could. It will be interesting to see how this will fare in the challenging and confusing world of Gospel hip hop.
