This is an unusual CD with two distinctive songs and one backing track. A little girl called Joanna performs the title track on the recorder and the rest of the children of St Theresa's Catholic Church. It is all about God's love for the street children of Colombia. In the other song a father sings to a new born child looking ahead to the seasons of his life. The final backing track is the tune of the title track that is designed for children to sing along to. This CD is very difficult to review as these tunes sound to me like one that people will either love or hate. The first sound of Vivan Los Ninos! can sound grating on the ears, but as I've listened to it I've grown to really like it. Similarly, the very formal sounding singing of "0 Child" can be off putting, but as I've listened to the lyrics they've caused me to reflect deeply about life. I'm not sure that children will appreciate "0 Child" as it is written from the viewpoint of a parent. Yet this CD is aimed at children as the idea is for them to learn "Vivan Los Ninos!" and then sing along to the backing track. Overall, this is an interesting and moving CD but perhaps with a slightly limited appeal.
