One of America's biggest CCM acts weighs in with his debut for Warner Alliance. It is a highly attractive album which covers a range of musical styles whilst maintaining continuity and a very relaxed feel. As usual I struggled to settle on a musical classification, my choice (if allowed) would be soft acoustic rock. It reminds me of the unplugged series on the TV. None of the tracks are strident but "Rock Steady" is definitely lively whereas "One Time In Each Forever" is positively beautiful in a devotional sort of way. The singing is excellent and the lyrics are easy to hear. Easy to hear does not however mean unchallenging. Tracks like "Wait A Little Longer" and "Don't You Remember" continue to dig into the old brain cells encouraging meditation and personal development. The use of a saxophone and slide guitar give a bluesy feel to some of the tracks and "If I Were You" reminds me of Bob Dylan. This CD is an all round winner.
