Mr Brooks-Martin has gone to considerable trouble an no little expense in putting this package together. His voice is pretty good without being distinctive and there are some nice production touches on this set (like the strings on the title cut). What really lets the set down is poor songwriting. Stringing together badly scanning, gospel music cliches and putting them to a set of melodies which sound like they were all written in an afternoon doesn't do anybody any favours. There is some excellent grassroots gospel out there but this simply doesn't stand up.
