When presented with a children's album for review you're never quite sure what to expect, is it going to annoy or amuse? The genre is a minefield full of squeaky voices and lifeless, plodding backing tracks surely designed more as a punishment, rather then entertainment, for little ones. In truth this 2007 offering from the Wonder Kids series falls somewhere in the middle. There's enough good material to keep kids interested, "Father Abraham" bounces along nicely as does "Get On Board Little Children" with its country-esque guitar licks. But for every highlight there's something that will have you reaching for the skip button, "God Is So Good" doesn't seem to have had any effort put into it whatsoever and "This Is My Commandment" similarly seems to have been knocked out in somebody's lunch break. With 50 tracks crammed onto a single disc, available at a bargain price, there's no arguing with the value for money, but next time a little more quality control is needed.
