If you thought all kids made music like the woeful Cedarmont Kids wait 'til you hear this kicking crew. A truly invigorating mix of hip hop and R&B from a bunch of kids out of Chicago (ages 9 to 14). This is wonderful stuff, coming on like a gospel versions of Da Brat and TLC while those who like their hip hop phat will find the grooves kicked up by producer Mike-E serious stuff. My faves are the solid "Dancin"' and the wonderful opening denouncement against illiteracy "Rap-N-Read". As it says, "If you wanna learn to rap, you gotta learn to read...word up!" Young Warriors For The Cause indeed.
