Those of you who like grunge with its distorted bass, flanged guitar and melodic blues vocals, then this is for you. The band's sound has been described as "Bass heavy, psychedelic, mood swingin', brain ringin' music." It's close to that of Soundgarden with some tracks having a Kings X feel to it (at one point Kings X bassist Doug Pinnock was going to produce the album). Among the heavy and driving rhythms there is also some pop sensibilities especially on the melody of "What I Know". The vocals are also of a high standard. The lyric direction is according to the band themselves, "Trying to be honest with the struggles and trials we face and saying this is life from our perspective," but they are not afraid to focus on God. For example, on the song "Colors" (about racism) they borrow a line from Rez's "Afrikaans" song, "God makes the color but the color doesn't make you God." Smashing stuff and thoroughly recommended.
