If you hate heavy rock or so-called "alternative" rock and long for something with the melodic power of early '70s acts like America, Crosby, Stills and Nash or even early Doobie Brothers, then this is the one for you. Five-piece Z Plan definitely sound like they were locked in solitary confinement with a record player and their favourite LPs in 1972 and have just been allowed out to record! From the opening "So Long To Yesterday" with its soaring vocal harmonies and melodic guitar lines through the beautiful ballad "Maybe" onto the rock'n'rolling "Don't Wanna Wait" with its Hammond frills, this is a polished independent release. My faves are probably "Let Love Lead The Way" with its solid punchy rock foundations and great vocals and the title track with its merry-go-round intro exploding into an acoustic feast, some great guitar work and soaring singing. It is probably best described as music made by Christians aiming at a mainstream audience rather than a ministry album. But it proves that there are many fine bands still unsigned by the big boys who are making music worth tracking down.
