Easily the best of the Scott Blackwell trio of EP remixes, although few would argue that the source material was not already of a distinctly superior nature. Despite the popularity of the original versions, it appears that Scott was given a free hand to make fairly drastic alterations. The result is a tougher sound with recognisable tunes and, as such, should please fans of DC Talk and fans of harder dance styles alike. Of the two "Jesus Is Just Alright" remixes I preferred the second one (Retro Mix) which is driven along by some wobbly guitar and Blackwell trademark conga rhythms. There's some mad trombone in there as well. The version of "Luv Is A Verb" is much more underground in its style than its album original and the blast is completed by a rendition of "The Hard Way" which benefits from some deep dub-style bass sounds. The whole project works so convincingly that Scott should be looking for new targets. I wonder what a remix of Sandi Patti would sound like?
