The Current State of Christian Music

Comment:
In 1980 Cloud led worship at HTB making well-produced Christian music (John Pantry) with diverse folk/classical/rock/jazz influences. Involved in an outreach to Arab students (hands on ministry) they were true worshipers in word (music) & deed. Today marketing young talent produces profits but wont produce prophets; years of hidden preparation are needed. We make homogenised, compressed, Christian rock idols - just look at their CD covers! Technical expertise increases but HAVE WE GROWN FAT even idolatrous? The BIG CHRISTIAN MUSIC INDUSTRY may have to die before true LIFE springs forth?
