What an epic tale. Hadn't listened to 'view of a world' for years. My opinion ? potentialy world class, just needed more beefy recording tricks. Lillywhite transformed U2 - I heard the before/after - imagine what he'd have done for Split Level. I also wonder what would have happened if a second (twin) lead guitarist had been recruited.
