I love Rich's songwriting skills; words are so awesome and Heaven inspired. So in the Spring of 1989 we are introduced to the top notch ccm song, "Awesome GOD"; churches are singing it all around! This song reminds me a lot of Newsboys' "He Reigns": these are powerful songs of praise for GOD! CCM vet Pam Mark Hall along with Billy Sprague, Kim Hill & Chris Rodgriguez, join the 2 dozen voice choir of "Awesome GOD" What an impact Rich's songs have made! I really like "With The Wonder"; luv the lyrics. "If I Stand" is quite the commendable; the song includes top ccm artist Michael W. Smith on piano, top ccm songwriter Wayne Kirkpatrick on bgvs;and top notch singer/songwriter of White Heart, Billy Simon on bgvs:I love this song, btw the cd title is from this song. When I read the lyrics to Rich's songs, it's almost as if they were poems turned into songs. I love "Home" immensely! Well known ccm drummer Keith Edwards plays drums for this top notch project: First Call's Melody Tunney & Bonnie Keen provide bgvs also. Listen to those guitar strings on "Ready For the Storm"; just wonderful!: another great song, wtg Dougie McClain! What a legacy that Rich has left, he was gone too soon! I first became familiar with his songwriting talents when I heard ccm artist Amy Grant recording of "Sing Your Praise to The LORD" in 1982: I also saw Rich open up for Amy in 1986, he sang this song & "Doubly Good To You"; also on Amy's 1984 Straight Ahead. Rich was a very gifted songwriter/musician, and he blessed the world around him with what GOD gave him. GOD Bless! -Don
